Preparation for Session #6 ~ CrEaTiViTy

Now that we are thinking in terms of - WHAT DO I WANT - in any and every situation

the next logical step would be to think,
given I know what I want
Which capability of child's do we tap into, what abilities do I use, which strengths do I explore?
We explore these questions in the next two sessions - the first being on

Session #6 - Creativity

1.

Create a list of all the activities in your day where you using creativity or being creative.

2.

We want to see you with a new head/hairstyle in the session. So, using ONLY newspaper (and no other accessories allowed) do a make up for your head / hair. Make it funky, crazy, not-done-it-before.

3. Your child has a new flashy eraser in his box. He claims his friend has given him. But you have been off-late seeing too many of these "gifts" in his bag/box lately. Also, he has been pestering for all kinds of flashy stationery. He had also flicked something a few days back from the neighbour's house. Looks like he isn't telling you the 'right' story.

What would be your response in this situation? Why are you responding in this way? What is your objective? What are your beliefs about lying, stealing, material possessions, etc?

4.

What is creativity? Make a small map of what all words / thoughts come to your mind regarding creativity? What are your beliefs about creativity? So how creative do you think you are? Rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 10 (where ratings of 4-5-6 are not allowed)

4.

When one works from the premise of creativity one becomes very accepting and that helps. We realise that creativity is not just a visually appealing painting, a pep piece of music, but something that is more fundamental, more pervasive, daily, …..  A thinking process, a way of life.

Think about at least two aspects of your life that you would like to live creatively. Why are these not as creative as of now? How can you make them creative?
